City Skyline - Pre K 1
Building upon the strong interest in famous skyscrapers including: The Empire State Building, The Chrysler Building, The Freedom Tower, The Eiffel Tower, and Big Ben, the children in Pre K 1 began to sketch their favorite buildings from around the world. As their designs progressed, they were introduced to various loose materials to enhance their illustrations, such as: mosaic tiles, ribbons, stickers, and paint samples. They began to use these materials to define the shape of the building and to represent windows, doors, and antennas. As the children worked on their individual representations, they shared ideas such as height and location of the buildings as well as the different features that are unique to each structure. As a group, we decided to cut out the individual buildings to create a daytime, afternoon, and evening skyline.
