She Flies to Live

This Creative Cup is dedicated to my dear friend Christine Agresta who is an eight-year breast cancer survivor. Christine lives in Orlando, Florida, but made the decision to have her treatment in New York. This decision required flying up and down the east coast, which she was more than willing to do.

When she called me with the news that she was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was taken aback at first but immediately went into help mode, reassuring her that I would find the best doctors for her and trying to allay any fears she might have. She flew up and had her surgery and radiation and flew up every three months at first and then every six months since then. She takes the same Delta flight to LaGuardia and leaves on the same Delta flight back to Orlando. She has been doing this for the past eight years. This is the reason why this Creative Cup is for her, a very courageous and determined woman who “flies to live and lives to fly.”
