Broken Basket
Cane, bark, twigs, roots, hardwood, vine and branches. All those things can go into making a basket. They are woven into simple or detailed works of art in many ways, in many patterns, and even many colors. Every part fits with the rest to make the whole, and when something happens to make it break somewhere, the integrity of the whole is in danger. If you catch the break early, like catching “a stitch in time” saving nine, it can probably be easily fixed. If you let it go longer, the break becomes more substantial, involving more of the structure, and it becomes harder to repair.
Our lives also are made of many parts, intricately woven together to make a whole. Every part goes into making us what we are today. But if cancer sneaks into our lives, our focus must be directed to that broken area. If we catch it early, we can probably fix it. If it goes longer, the danger to us is more substantial, harder to eliminate. Early detection and early treatment help chances of survival. It is important to see your doctors regularly, and be aware of any and all changes in your body, so you can catch warning signs early.
