Lock Out Cancer
My grandmother, Harriet Liman, died in 1974 from breast cancer. My dad was young when she died. He speaks so beautifully about her. She was loving and very strong willed; yet she was not strong enough to physically beat this sickness.
I created this bra in her memory.
Lock Out Cancer is just that. Let us not have this disease any more. My sister and I are fearful that we may get this awful plague. We know too many people who have it, and in my generation, we have to find a cure. Now.
I chose to place red locks and silver keys on the bra to symbolize the process of locking the disease out. The chains are woven into the design to make sure that cancer cannot get in.
