Stopping Time
I am a self-taught mixed-media and steampunk artist. I thought it would be cool to make a steampunk bra for this cause. You see, I have a friend who is an artist like me who also does mixed-media work. She was diagnosed with breast cancer years ago. She was home-free for many years and just a few months ago, we learned that it metastasized to her bones. This is one happy-go-lucky lady who teaches at retreats and always has a smile on her face. To make matters worse, her husband has a brain tumor and is in a wheelchair. So she has to take care of him as well. I bonded with her and there is not much I can do but pray for her and her husband as she lives very far away from me. We don’t see each other often, but when we do, we enjoy each other’s company so much.
I complain all the time that I am big-busted and want to be smaller, but then I hear stories like this and others that go through this horrific disease and I thank God he gave me what he did. No longer will I complain about being so big. I am not a healthy person and have many medical problems, but they are debilitating, not life threatening. I pray for all these women that go through this and I also pray that a cure comes through for them very, very soon.
