Lori (DiBella) Wallach '89, MA '96 and Patrick Wallach' 90, MS '92, DA '98
In early 1987, I had just become the arts editor of the Delphian when I got a call from a freshman named Patrick. He said he wanted to be the new movie reviewer for the paper because he could do a better job than the person we had now! I thought he sounded pretty full of himself, but after trying him out for a few weeks, I saw he was right. A year later, we were elected editor-in-chief and managing editor of the paper, and we started dating. The Delphian was a major part of our Adelphi experience, and gave us lots of time to work together and realize we had found something very special in each other.
Patrick and I were married in 1994 and went on to collect several more degrees from Adelphi! He is now a math professor at Queensborough Community College, and I continue to combine my love of writing and research in my work as an archivist. We come back to campus as often as we can for alumni and cultural events, and always reminisce about where our love story began, on the third floor of the UC!
