Joya and I met the first day of classes freshman year which was Sept. of 1977. We were both Theater majors and the location of our first class was changed. Somehow she and I were the only ones who did not find out about the location change. We showed up at the original location and were the only ones there. By virtue of sharing the same major we had almost all of our classes together for the entire 4 years we were at Adelphi. However, we never dated until after we graduated. Instead we became best friends. That friendship became the foundation of our relationship and when we finally started dating propelled us into a relationship that has lasted over 40 years! We have 4 kids and our oldest, Leah, is also an Adelphi alumnus.
